| Focoltone
takes next step towards a Color OK! world |
10 May 2004, Germany - Focoltone
is announcing a color calibration methodology blueprint for
print groups. The Focoltone ICCS Network Print Group will be
ready by end 2004. With it, every color printer in a network
will, regardless of make or model, be able to achieve Color
OK! standards.
Color OK! is Focoltone's trademark for accurate and consistent
color output from a printer, achieved through calibration by
the Focoltone Intelligent Color Calibration System (ICCS). Currently,
Focoltone ICCS is meant for use on single-printer systems.
The planned web-based system works through a print server to
calibrate color output on a multiple color device network using
Focoltone color technology.
To achieve this, the advanced Artificial Intelligence, learning
capability, and Negative Color Comparison technologies used
in the Focoltone Intelligent Color Calibration System (ICCS)
will be enhanced for print group application.
As to how The Focoltone ICCS Network Print Group could help
a company, Mr. Winson Lan, CEO of KiKUZE Solutions, which owns
Focoltone, said, "By centrally calibrating all printers
on a network, organizations or print shops with multiple color
printers can achieve color consistency and standardization.
"Enabling high-quality color output on print machines in
a network saves the organization time and effort - it facilitates
the quick production of professional-quality color prints for
anything from internal corporate communications to ad-hoc publications
on the fly, without compromising on color quality. That is a
priceless advantage in the fast-paced environment businesses
today compete in."
The move towards print group calibration is part of Focoltone's
development strategy to further enhance the capabilities of
being Color OK!.
"Focoltone ICCS Network Print Group is the next project
on our technology roadmap and it will be a major step in achieving
our vision of a Color OK! world," Winson articulated.
Focoltone ICCS is a software-based program that incorporates
advanced Artificial Intelligence and Negative Color Comparison
to detect color variance and contamination in digital printers.
The system corrects these color imperfections by creating new
ICC (International Color Consortium) profiles for the printers.
It is compliant to ICC standards, and is recommended to work
on digital color printers that support ICC profiles. Color verification
is provided through the Focoltone Calibration Chart.
