OK! does better than okay at drupa 2004 |
22 June 2004, Singapore - Focoltone
proved to be a hit during its global launch of its Artificial
Intelligence color calibration software system Focoltone ICCS
2.0 at drupa, generating high levels of interest from major
OEMs and distributors.
More than 20 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and 50
distributors were impressed with the Color OK! performance and
results obtained using the Focoltone Intelligent Color Calibration
System.
The bulk of enquiries hailed from Europe and the United States.
Focoltone is currently in the midst of assessing this substantial
database and will soon be announcing licensing and distribution
deals when negotiations are finalized.
CEO of KiKUZE Solutions, which owns Focoltone, Mr. Winson Lan,
expressed his delight over the success at drupa, saying "We
knew Focoltone ICCS was a product that the market needed, and
showcasing it in the print industry's largest show, drupa, has
proved that beyond all our expectations."
"We can now be sure our vision of establishing a global
Color OK! culture will soon be realized".
Being located at the drupa innovation parc helped set Focoltone
ICCS apart as a unique solution and was integral to the high-levels
of interest generated at the Focoltone booth.
Another reason for the enthusiastic reception of Focoltone ICCS
was that it was exactly what people were looking for in a color
calibration system. Print Pack Publish Asia magazine said, in
its May 2004 issue, "In a worldwide user survey, respondents
called above all for improvements in handling CMYK data, greater
predictability of transformation results and increased user-friendliness."
Focoltone ICCS answered all these requirements, with CMYK-data
based operation, visible and verifiable color results, and a
click-and-execute methodology. All of which made achieving Color
OK! results easy and convenient.
Focoltone ICCS is an Adobe Photoshop plug-in that incorporates
advanced Artificial Intelligence and Negative Color Comparison
to detect color variance and contamination in digital printers.
The system corrects these color imperfections by creating new
ICC (International Color Consortium) profiles for the printers.
It is compliant to ICC standards, and is recommended to work
on digital color printers that support ICC profiles. Color verification
is provided through the Focoltone Calibration Chart.
